Purpose

Enhancing the teaching method through training, skill improvement and in-service training of academic staff. The E-learning approach to Effective teaching methods will be an added advantage to members of staff willing to be provided by achieving a Certificate in Pedagogical Skills.

Objectives

1. To produce quality members of staff in line with the Institute`s Pedagogical practices.
2. To generate stimulating pedagogical practices in developing Academic Writing manuals for students with impact on the National and International development goals.
3. To transfer effective pedagogical practices from the University and other International Institutions for the benefit of members of staff, students and the local community.

The Director`s Message

Welcome to the Institute of General Studies. The Institute of General Studies of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology was established in the year 2017 to enhance the teaching method through training, skill improvement and in-service training of academic staff. The E-learning approach to Effective teaching methods will be an added advantage to members of staff willing to be provided by achieving a Certificate in Pedagogical Skills.
