The general aim of the Degree in Food Science and Technology at DeKUT is to train professionals with the necessary knowledge in basic subjects that allows them to study the nature of food, the causes of its deterioration, the fundamental principles of its processing and the improvement thereof for public consumption.
The course is designed to help students learn the full range of theoretical and practical aspects of food science, technology and nutrition and to venture into entrepreneurship in the food industry and to pursue higher education. Students will also be able to develop novel, healthy and functional food products that meet consumer demands and comply with strict safety and health guidelines.

Course Requirements

Entry requirement are, KCSE Aggregate Grade of C+ (plus) with at least C+ (plus) in Biology or C+ (plus) in Biological Sciences, C+ (plus) in Chemistry and Physics or C+ (plus) in Physical Sciences and C+ (plus) in Mathematics
