The Undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Geology is a 4 year program that is designed to both prepare students into the workforce as practicing geoscientists, and to provide them with knowledge required to pursue an advance degree. Students enrolled in Geology program at DeKUT are afforded the opportunity to pursue interests in several areas as specialization including petrology, volcanology, structural geology, sedimentary geology, climate change and soil science.
This program helps students learn about the composition of Earth and it's atmosphere; how natural forces, such as wind and water, shape land; and how to analyze Earth's layers, rock and mineral formations and raw materials, like oil and water. Students learn how to understand the planet's health, how its resources can be used in everyday life and how it has changed over time.
Entry requirements are at least a minimum grade of C+, C+ in Mathematics and a C+ in any 2 of the subjects indicated below:-
Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences
Bachelor of Technology in Building Technology is a four-year undergraduate program that is ideal for those who would like to work in an engineering-related field.
Building technology is a combination of engineering technology, construction techniques, and management, prepares students to efficiently use people, machines, materials, and money to complete a construction project on time and to the satisfaction of the customer as well as to understand management’s point of view in the construction industry.
The main objective of bachelor of technology in building construction programme is to train highly skilled personnel knowledgeable in the management and control of the construction process, and optimum aggregation of construction resources including money, manpower, materials, machinery and methods of work.
Entry requirements are at least a minimum grade of C+, C+ in Mathematics, Physics and C (plain) in English/Kiswahili
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme aims to provide the students with skills and enhance self confidence and ability to evaluate administration issues from academic and practical perspective. The course prepares students for a variety of different management and administrative roles
It is designed to help students learn to take on an executive role in planning, organizing, staffing, directing and controlling business operations. At DeKUT, Business Administration enables students to gain a clear understanding of various business disciplines to major in at their third year of studies, i.e. Marketing Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Leadership & Management, and Strategic Management Option, Human Resource Management, International Business Management, Finance Management & Investment Banking.

The Bachelor of Commerce is a 4-year program which is designed to develop student’s business acumen, financial literacy, and analytical skills. The students are prepared for careers in fields including accounting, financial management, banking information systems etc. In DeKUT students choose to major in one or two of the following fields from their second year of study: Accounting or Finance. Graduates of the Bachelor of Commerce typically work for companies, agencies and organizations across the private and public sectors

The aim of the Bachelor of Purchasing and Supplies Management (BPSM) degree is to provide students with experience in the development of Supply Chain Systems necessary for solving business problems and making managerial decisions. DeKUT students are able to learn how firms can gain a competitive advantage by adopting smart design for their supply networks and how they can seize the full potential of their suppliers from this course.
At DeKUT, BPSM is designed to incorporate course units that will enable the graduates of the programme meet demands of the job market by providing solutions to problems prevailing in private and public procurement systems.
Candidates wishing to study this course must satisfy the minimum University requirements for admission of KCSE aggregate Grade of C+ (plus) with a C (plain) in Mathematics and English or Kiswahili
Bachelor of Tourism and Hospitality management at DeKUT provides students with the fundamental knowledge of the tourism industry and preparing them for exciting jobs in the field of tourism.
The Degree Programme in Tourism and Hospitality Management is designed to prepare DeKUT students meet and manage today's clients' high demands for high class and innovative services. Students learn how to design hotel, restaurant and tourism services, how to manage a business and how to be successful leaders. Sales and marketing skills are also taught as well as intercultural communication and versatile language skills.

The general aim of the Degree in Food Science and Technology at DeKUT is to train professionals with the necessary knowledge in basic subjects that allows them to study the nature of food, the causes of its deterioration, the fundamental principles of its processing and the improvement thereof for public consumption.
The course is designed to help students learn the full range of theoretical and practical aspects of food science, technology and nutrition and to venture into entrepreneurship in the food industry and to pursue higher education. Students will also be able to develop novel, healthy and functional food products that meet consumer demands and comply with strict safety and health guidelines.

This four year Bachelor of Science in Geospatial Information Science and Remote Sensing is designed for students who desire to find employment in the private and public sectors, particularly within the fields such as environment, urban planning, or disaster management. Taken on campus at The Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, this programme takes place over two semesters, with a research project in the final year to give students a comprehensive and well-rounded learning experience.
The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the fundamentals of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) theory and technologies through the use of problem solving and spatial thinking skills. The approach used in this course is problem-based learning applied to spatially explicit problems. These concepts are essential to the use of GIS. Students will develop their own analytical skills by addressing real-world decision making problems within the spatial framework of GIS.

This programme provides broad-based expertise and cutting-edge skills that span the growing geospatial field and helps alleviate the shortage of well-educated geospatial professionals. This program is intended for engineers and other geospatial, environmental and urban infrastructure professionals seeking skills in using and managing rapidly developing geospatial data technologies.
Our Geomatics and GIS curriculum covers a wide range of geospatial principles. Students learn from industry professionals in areas of surveying, geodesy, mapping science and cartography, GNSS and GPS, photogrammetry, remote sensing, high-definition surveying, and relational GIS databases.
