Science and Technology Parks and Incubators encourage cooperation and synergy between universities, research institutions, and the private sector and create a favorable environment for innovation, renovation and training.
As a University, we are honored to host one of the two Science and Technology Parks in Kenya. The purpose of this park is to create high-tech clusters that serve as catalysts to technology development, economic transformation, and wealth creation with a link to university knowledge generation. One of the thematic areas of the park is design and manufacturing to focus on mechanization of agriculture and industries through advancements, in among others, robotics and mechatronics.
The park is a project of the Government of Kenya under the Ministry of Education and on 16th September, 2020, the University hosted the Principal Secretary, State Department for University Education and Research, Amb. Simon Nabukwesi for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Design, Manufacturing and Materials Hub.
