DeKUT is keen on Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer and looks to build on this towards contributing to National Development.
DeKUT hosted the 3rd Science,Technology,Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference on 1st November to 3rd November,2017. The theme of the conference was "Harnessing Science, Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development."
In his speech during the official opening of the conference, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eng. P. N. Kioni, gave a breakdown on the importance of having a collaborative effort towards this agenda especially with the upcoming Science and Technology Park at the University.
The CEO Konza Technopolis Construction Authority, Eng. John Tanui, iterated on the need of Institutions of Higher Learning, the Industry and the Government working together towards achieving Sustainable Development.
The Governor County Government of Nyeri, H .E Dr. Wahome Gakuru, pledged his continued support to the University towards this agenda citing that the governments do not create wealth but entrepreneurs do with the support of the government who should create an enabling enterprising environment.
