  1. Introduction
    IntroductionDedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT), in line with its mission of providing aquality learning environment, proposes an initiative to support its students and staff acquirelaptops. The program, dubbed Student and Staff Laptop Empowerment Program (SSLEP),envisages to support the blended virtual/physical learning occasioned by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. The EOI objective
    The objective of this EOI (Expression of Interest) is for DeKUT to receive information fromThe objective of this EOI (Expression of Interest) is for DeKUT to receive information fromexperienced Laptop Suppliers that demonstrate capability and experience to supply high qualityLaptops for student and Staff Laptop Empowerment programmeDeKUT will collaborate with financial institutions to finance the purchase or lease of the laptopsvia a graduated payment model financed by the Local Banks and guaranteed by the University.The initial phase targets 2,000 laptops within the first five months with a possibility of increasingthe number of laptops.This EOI seeks applications from interested Local Laptop Suppliers.

  1. Bidding Timeline
    This Expression of interest will result in short listing of interested Laptop Suppliers who will be invited to submit proposals. Eligibility to participate in the proposed Proposal will be determined on the basis of submission of the minimum required documents stated in this EOI. After the deadline for submission of responses has passed, DeKUT will evaluate responses received and will notify eligible participants of the outcome of the evaluation.

  1. How to prepare and submit your Expression of Interest
    1. In order to participate in the pre-qualification exercise, companies are required to provide the following: The filled in EOI Response Form, which includes:
      • Table 1. DeKUT Minimum mandatory requirements.
      • Table 2. Supplier registration form.
      • Table 3. Supplier Financial Status.
      • Table 4. Supplier Relevant Experience.
      • Legal capacity – Business registration licenses (e.g. certificate of Incorporation, KRA taxcompliance certificate, PIN certificate, CR12 form- for Kenyan suppliers) and any otherlicenses required for the operation of the business. The company must have beenestablished within minimum of 3 years.
      • Company bank account details- see attached template form for supplier request forbanking details.
      • Signatory by the authorized company representative and company stamp.
      • NO PRICES SHOULD BE PROVIDED WITH THIS EOI
    2. All supporting documentation listed above shall be prepared in accordance with the instructions provided and sent to the Address indicated below:
    3. DeKUT will not consider incomplete or unsigned submissions. All responses and supporting documentation received will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be made available to the public.
    4. This request for EOI does not constitute a solicitation. DeKUT reserves the right to change or cancel this procurement process or any of its requirements at any time during the process; any such action will be communicated to all participants.
  1. Submission Requirements:
    Completed EOI documents shall be submitted in One (1) Original and One (1) copies of the EOI and accompanying documents duly completed must be placed in plain sealed envelopes and clearly marked with the EOI number and description without identifying the sender and must be addressed to:

And be deposited in the Tender Box provided at the entrance to the Resource Centre II so as to bereceived on or before Wednesday 13th October, 2021 at 12.00 hrs. (East African Time). Tender documents shall be opened immediately thereafter in the presence of interested bidders or their representatives who choose to attend at the Resource centre II Dome.
