Dr. Paul Koigi Mbote - Registrar (Administration and Finance)

Dr. Paul Koigi Mbote currently serves as the Registrar for Administration and Finance at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, a role in which he provides strategic leadership and oversight for the University’s administrative and financial operations. He is a seasoned higher education administrator with extensive experience in corporate planning, academic administration, and institutional governance.

Dr. Mbote holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Administration from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, reflecting his deep engagement with management theory and practice in the higher education context. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Based Information Systems (M.Sc. CBIS) from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenya.

Before his appointment as Registrar, Dr. Mbote held multiple key roles at DeKUT, including Deputy Registrar for Corporate Planning and Strategy (2014–2018) and Deputy Registrar Academic Affairs, where he contributed significantly to policy development, institutional strategic planning, and academic administration. He also served on secondment as Acting Registrar early in his career, building foundational expertise in university governance. Prior to joining DeKUT’s predecessor institution, the Kimathi University College of Technology (KUCT), he accrued six years of administrative experience at JKUAT, strengthening his operational and managerial capabilities in complex educational environments.
