Bachelor of Education Technology in Civil Engineering train students in drafting, structure design and surveying.

This programme teaches students to plan, design, and oversee construction projects. Students learn to manage budgets and expenses, work with architects and engineers, addressing delays and safety concerns. Civil engineers deal with aspects of a construction, like budgeting, safety, and legal permits. Construction managers only have onsite tasks: managing workers, materials, and hiring subcontractors.

Bachelor of Technology in Building Technology is a four-year undergraduate program that is ideal for those who would like to work in an engineering-related field.

Building technology is  a combination of engineering technology, construction techniques, and management, prepares students to efficiently use people, machines, materials, and money to complete a construction project on time and to the satisfaction of the customer as well as to understand management’s point of view in the construction industry. 

The main objective of bachelor of technology in building construction programme is to train highly skilled personnel knowledgeable in the management and control of the construction process, and optimum aggregation of construction resources including money, manpower, materials, machinery and methods of work.

This two and a half year programme in DeKUT has been designed to upgrade registered nurse holders to the Bachelor of Science in nursing level and aims to help students develop a better understanding of advanced issues within the profession.

Entry requirements are that, one must be a Kenya Registered Community Health Nurse (KRCHN) OR Kenya Registered Nurse/ Midwife (KRN/KRM/PH). Must be currently registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya and posses a valid Nursing Council of Kenya practice license with a minimum of 2 years nursing experience. In addition the candidate must possess either: A Minimum entry or C (plain) in KCSE OR Division II in KCE. The mode of study is part time.

Bachelor of Science in Polymer Chemistry is an undergraduate chemistry course which deals with the study of polymers. The polymer industry is the biggest industry in the world and these  materials are ubiquitous in our daily lives. Polymers include thermoplastics, thermosets such as rubber, paints and other surface coating materials such as adhesives, sealants and varnishes, elastomers such as foams, and many more. Polymers have found wide application ranging from health, packing, transport, aerospace, food, automobile, building and construction.

In this course the learner is introduced to various commercial polymers and others which are important in the chemical world. The course provides fundamental skills in sources of raw materials for the plastics industry, polymer synthesis, processing, properties, testing and characterization of the major polymers in use. Other emerging polymers with special functionalities are also learnt.

With the increase widespread use of polymers the demand for experts in this field will possibly increase. Graduates can get jobs in polymer manufacturing companies as in-process or quality control experts handling the raw materials to the finished product. Polymer Recycling companies also offer opportunities. Graduates can  also work as technical sales representatives. The course also can lead to entrepreuership or setting up individual businesses. Graduates can also work as research scientists.

Course Requirements

A minimum Mean Grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C+ in the Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics.

1. KACE Applicants:
   At Least two principal passes, one which must be in Chemistry and one subsidiary.
2. Holders of a KNEC Diploma or its equivalent/Higher National Diploma qualifications in Polymer Chemistry or any related field.
3. A holder of any other qualifications recognized by the Senate as equivalent to (1) and (2) above.

Duration of the Programme

Duration the duration of the Bachelor of Science in polymer chemistry programme shall be four (4) academic years.

Higher National Diploma/Diploma in Telecommunication and Information Engineering or related discipline with a KCSE Mean grade C- , with atleast C- in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and English/Kiswahili
