This three weeks short course programme seeks to equip trainees with appropriate attitude, practical and theoretical concepts, knowledge and competencies needed to professionally and successfully execute mountaineering and outdoor expeditions.

By the end of three weeks intensive training the trainee should be able to:

1. Confidently initiate and guide mountaineering and outdoor expedition;
2. Evaluate, reduce and avoid hazards;
3. Professionally guide tourists/guests and market tour guiding services;
4. Provide basic Wilderness First Aid in the event of an emergence during mountaineering and outdoor activities expedition;
5. Promote responsible mountaineering and outdoor activities;
6. Plan, implement and evaluate mountaineering and outdoor activities.

Course Requirements

1. Be a holder of KCSE certificate with a minimum aggregate of D- and a minimum of D- in English and/ or Kiswahili.
   Or
2. Any person who is engaged in mountaineering and expedition guiding (this includes the expedition crew) ready and comfortable to learn in English.
