Maternal Access and Infant Health Advancement project (MAISHA) was a collaboration of Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) and College of the Rockies(COTR)– Canada. The project was implemented from November, 2012 to December, 2017. This project was focused on improving Maternal, Newborn and Child Health(MNCH)services in rural communities in Nyeri and Migori, by strengthening GOK health facilities and community health systems. The goal of the MAISHA partnership was to reduce maternal and infant mortality in Nyeri and Migori counties in Kenya.
DeKUT also receives interns from CoTR in various academic fields like Health Sciences, IFBT, IToHM. The students are here for a period of 6 months and are actively engaged within the University.
