Under this MOU, DeKUT has greatly benefited from staff training at GIFU and through visiting Gifu University professors who deliver lectures to students in addition to attending DeKUT conferences. DeKUT awarded Prof Sasaki an honory doctorate (Honoris Causa)of his efforts to nurture partnership with Gifu University, and through this, linking the Institution to important networks of Universities interested in energy and environmental issues. The DeKUT - Gifu partnership has given opportunities for half a dozen staff to pursue Doctor of Philosophy degrees at Gifu. Prof Sasaki has played a key role in introducing Gifu Professors to DeKUT and encouraging them to have research partnerships with DeKUT faculty.
