DeKUT’s "Climb to Educate" Steering Committee Hike, Keeping all our students in Class

Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no gifted student is left behind due to financial constraints. As part of its ongoing efforts to support talented but needy students, the University’s Climb to Educate Steering Committee, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Eng. Peter N. Muchiri, EBS, recently embarked on a hike to Old Moses Camp (3,300 meters above sea level) on Mt. Kenya, via the Sirimon route.
The initiative, "Climb to Educate," is a key component of DeKUT’s Endowment Fund Drive, which seeks to raise resources to support students from underprivileged backgrounds. By organizing such activities, the University continues to reinforce its mission of providing accessible, quality education and empowering students from all walks of life to pursue their academic goals without financial barriers.
The trek not only tested the endurance of the team but also provided a unique opportunity for bonding and collaboration. It allowed participants to experience the realities of the challenge firsthand, helping them better market and promote the fundraising campaign to future climbers. The exercise also served as a preparatory step for upcoming climbs and excursions in the ongoing fund drive.
Through the Climb to Educate initiative, DeKUT continues to mobilize resources towards the endowment fund. The University remains dedicated to nurturing innovation and technological advancement while fostering inclusivity and equal opportunities in higher education.
Be part of the legacy, carry forward the Harambee spirit of our University Founders by joining our exciting climbs and excursions. Stand and be counted!
