DeKUT Staff Sports and Fun Day 2026 Champions Teamwork, Wellness and Excellence

The Dedan Kimathi University of Technology Staff Sports and Fun Day 2026 were a resounding success, bringing together members of staff from across various departments and Institutes in the University for a day of sports, recreation, and team-building.

The event provided an opportunity for staff to step away from their daily routines and engage in a variety of sporting and recreational activities designed to promote physical wellness and strengthen workplace relationships. Participants showcased enthusiasm and competitive spirit in football, athletics, table tennis, chess, and several engaging team-building activities. Beyond the excitement of competition, the Sports and Fun Day underscored the University's commitment to employee well-being by encouraging healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and meaningful interaction among colleagues. The event reinforced the importance of creating a positive work environment where staff can connect, collaborate, and thrive both professionally and personally.

The celebrations culminated in an award ceremony that recognised exceptional performances across the various sporting disciplines. Speaking at the event, the University management reaffirmed DeKUT's commitment to organising initiatives that promote staff wellness, enhance teamwork, and strengthen institutional cohesion.

The Sports and Fun Day also celebrated the outstanding achievements of staff members who excelled in various sporting disciplines. Participants competed across chess, scrabble, pool, darts, athletics, sack race, egg race, pétanque, cycling, wall climbing, and woodball, with winners drawn from various departments across the University. The diversity of participants and departments represented reflected the University's strong culture of inclusivity and unity.
