DeKUT's i2B Innovation Weekend Sparks Ideas for Impact

The fifth edition of i2B Innovation Weekend was a remarkable celebration of creativity, collaboration and entrepreneurial thinking at the DeKUT Startup and Incubation Centre (DeSIC).
Over the course of the weekend, students, staff and alumni came together to refine innovative ideas, learn from experienced mentors, and explore how research and creativity can be transformed into solutions that address real-world challenges. The energy, curiosity and commitment demonstrated throughout the programme reaffirmed the growing culture of innovation at DeKUT.
We were honoured to host Prof. Eddy Owaga, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Affairs & Research), who encouraged participants to move beyond great ideas by taking deliberate action to create a meaningful and lasting impact. His message underscored the importance of innovation as a driver of sustainable development and societal transformation.
The success of this edition was made possible through the dedication of our facilitators, mentors, judges, volunteers and ecosystem partners, whose guidance and support continue to inspire the next generation of innovators. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the DeKUT management for championing innovation and entrepreneurship as key pillars of the university's vision.
As we conclude another successful i2B Innovation Weekend, we celebrate not just the ideas that were shared, but the connections formed, the lessons learned and the entrepreneurial journeys that have only just begun.
Here's to building bold ideas, nurturing innovative minds and shaping solutions that will make a lasting difference.
