DeKUT Takes Learning Beyond the Classroom with Climb to Educate

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic Affairs and Research, Prof. Eddy Owaga, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration and Finance, Prof. Esther Magiri, flagged off Season 9, Expedition 20 of the Climb to Educate initiative.
The initiative reflects the University’s commitment to fostering teamwork, diversity, excellence, and holistic development, bringing together participants for an experience that integrates adventure, learning, research, and personal growth.
Over the next five days, participants will undertake the challenging ascent of Mt. Kenya, an expedition designed to build resilience, strengthen collaboration, and inspire perseverance in the pursuit of excellence. Beyond the adventure, some participants will also conduct research projects on the mountain, providing an opportunity to undertake field-based research and contribute to knowledge through experiential learning.
We wish all participants a safe, and successful expedition as they climb to educate, explore, conduct research, and scale new heights.
